“We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” the newlyweds tell People.

The couple said their “I do”s in an ultra-private ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton lodge in Greensboro, Ga. Around 250 guests were reportedly flown by private planes to the festivities, not knowing where they were headed until they showed up at the airport.

Carrie and Mike met backstage at her March 2008 concert in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada — the city where Mike is a star player for the NHL’s Senators. The country star has since been to several of her hockey beau’s games, learning the ropes of the game. “They need to make the puck neon pink, because I’m having a hard time watching TV and following it,” she once joked with Chicago’s US99 radio station.

Mike has become equally well versed in country music. Just don’t ask him to try to follow in his bride’s footsteps. “When I try to sing some of her songs, she just laughs!” he told ‘The Sens Show.’

After calling Carrie’s father to ask for her hand in marriage, Mike the question on December 20, 2009, at his home in Canada. He presented his bride-to-be with a Jonathon Arndt-designed flawless yellow diamond ring, estimated to be around 12 carats and worth six figures. But Carrie isn’t counting. “He could’ve put a twisty tie on my finger, and that would’ve worked,” she told Allure magazine.

The happy couple will reside in both Nashville and Ottawa, with a long-distance relationship being something they’ve certainly mastered over these last two years together.

“He brings out the best in me,” Carrie told The Boot last November with a huge smile on her face. “He’s a good person. I’ve felt myself grow with him. He’s one of those certain people in your life you come across for a reason. I’m very glad that I met him. He’s been a really positive influence on my life.”

Carrie Underwood’s fiancé, pro hockey player Mike Fisher, has already done one of the most romantic things a man could do for his better half — proposed! So, for Valentine’s Day, to win her heart even further, all he has to do is get the blonde beauty a box of chocolates, preferably milk or white chocolate and caramels. “Chocolate is every woman’s friend,” explains Carrie.

One guy who is definitely a romantic is Garth Brooks, who puts wife Trisha Yearwood up on a pedestal every day with his actions and his words. “I’m not a coffee drinker, I just never have [been],” says Garth. But every morning, I fix her coffee. And it doesn’t matter if we got in at five o’clock that morning and we’re sacked up, I still get up in the morning and I fix her coffee, because it’s an honor to fix her coffee. So, that’s probably what she would say is the most romantic thing I do for her, even though some people might not think that’s romantic.”

On the other hand, there’s Blake Shelton who has a few words of advice for any women who have waited until the last minute to buy a Valentine’s Day gift for their man. “I’ll tell you what every man wants for Valentine’s Day — and women, I don’t give crap whether you like it or not,” states Blake, whose lucky(?) Valentine is, of course, Miranda Lambert. “Give a guy money. Give a guy cash. I don’t care if it’s five dollars, 10 dollars, 20 dollars. We don’t want y’all buying us socks or cologne or ties. Give us some money and we know what we want. We want beer and we want lighters, even if we don’t smoke. We like to buy crap like that.”

Blake may be missing his calling — maybe he should become a relationship therapist. The singer is not one to mince words, and he has a very definite idea for the male species on what they should get their women on Valentine’s Day. “I don’t care if I’m talking to the sappiest girly-girl on earth or the complete opposite of that, which is my girlfriend, Miranda,” begins Blake. “Every girl wants a ring. I don’t care if you’ve been married 30 years or if you’re just dating. Every girl wants some sort of jewelry. So, if you can just get over it and just go to the freakin’ store and buy a ring every time, what can a girl say to you after the fifth ring you get her? Even if you spend 200 bucks, you got her a ring. ‘I got you a ring. How are you gonna sit there and gripe at me? Is there anything more thoughtful than getting you a ring? Absolutely not!’ Get her a ring even if you don’t really care about her that much. It’ll keep the peace for a while.”

Miranda doesn’t seem to mind, since she says she’s not a romantic either. “My romantic side is more simple,” says the singer-songwriter. “I don’t care really about flowers.” But bring her some chocolate, and she says “that’s a different story.”

Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts reveals his favorite love song for each and every Valentine’s Day. “‘God Bless the Broken Road,’ not just because we sung it, but it’s just one of those incredible lyrics about everything that you go through leads you up to the point to where you finally fall in love with the one you’re meant to be with.”

Martina McBride, who scored a No. 1 hit with ‘Valentine,’ recalls coming home from dinner one night and retiring with husband John to the second-story porch where they often relax before bed. “We came home one night from being out … and the whole thing was filled with flowers, a bottle of champagne and three books of short stories,” says Martina. “He goes, ‘I just want us to sit out here and read to each other.’ And it was so beautiful. He’s so multi-dimensional — it’s hard to explain. He’s romantic, but he’s funny and he’s strong and he’s a good person. He’s an inspiration to me, really, on every level.”

This will be the fourth Valentine’s Day as a married couple for Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman. The two have been through quite a bit over the past few years, and come out of it seemingly more in love than ever, and with a baby daughter to boot. As uncomfortable as it is for Keith to talk about his romantic relationship with his wife, he has said that it gives him “a tremendous gratitude” that his wife definitely feels loved by him … and he by her. “That gives me a great centering on a daily basis that she also feels loved by me.”

Montgomery Gentry’s Troy Gentry has been thinking about the meaning of love in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, and he’s not sure one can really define the emotion. “It’s just something that you feel emotionally inside your heart,” explains Troy. “It’s an emotion, something that you feel and something that you share with another human being. It’s just a partnership and a companionship and something felt between two people that [is] indescribable.”

For anything he may do for Valentine’s Day, Chris Young says he’ll never beat his stepfather’s romantic gesture one Feb. 14. “I can never live up to my stepdad, because he asked my mom to marry him on Valentine’s Day, and then called us down from upstairs and asked me and my sister’s permission,” explains Chris. “So, pretty much anything I do, he made me look like a punk for the rest of my life on Valentine’s Day.”

Before tying the know with wife Cassidy, Dierks Bentley says Valentine’s Day wasn’t always a pleasant holiday for him. “Before, as a single guy, if you were dating someone, it’s that holiday that comes along where you have to really stamp out on paper exactly where the relationship really stands,” says Dierks. “You don’t want to undershoot it, because then you’ll be in trouble if you don’t give the right present or don’t say the right things. You’re gonna be in the doghouse. But then if you overstate your hand, then you’re moving the relationship way faster than you actually want to.”

Bill Currington remembers his first girlfriend and Valentine — from the first (or second) grade — and he really didn’t have all that much game, like he does now. “I remember, ‘Okay, it’s Valentine’s Day and your mom going, ‘You’ve got to get your girlfriend something and you’ve got to give it to her.’ I’ll never forget it. I got her a box of chocolates or whatever it was. And I remember going down to her classroom and knocking on the door and getting her to come to the door. I handed it to her and then took off running.”

Another romantic guy is Keith Anderson, who likes to go all out for his lady love. “I’m a candle, music, wine guy,” explains Keith. “If it’s gonna be a romantic date, it’s gotta involve those things, and a little massage oil and a good ole massage.”

Keith’s pal Chuck Wiles has got to be one of the most romantic guys on earth — here he gives some tips on how to deliver just the right amount of romance on Valentine’s Day. “It’s just all about that intimate setting, dark light, real dark, candlelit, the chocolate covered strawberries,” Chuck says. “It’s always good when you can make dinner for someone. Cooking dinner as soon as they get home from work. Instead of going out and buying a card, write your own card, do things from the heart and [give] all your attention on your woman, the whole night. It should be like that every day, but for that special night, kind of go overboard.”

Funny man Blake Shelton is at it again! Country music’s answer to David Letterman unleashes another “Take 6 Tuesday” list to tickle your funny (hillbilly) bone. And this one’s just in time for the most romantic day of the year. (That’s Valentine’s Day for those of you planning on wearing black this Sunday).

In this special edition of Take 6 Tuesday (and you know it’s special because someone named Kelli, who was apparently not wearing pants, presented Blake with the cards to read) the singer/comedian reveals the top six Valentine’s Day cards you should never give somebody.

Among the sentiments expressed in the cards Blake opened and read were: “I love you so much it hurts … when I pee”; “Will you marry me … pysch!” and “This heart is big and red … just like that sore on your lip.”

Blake will continue Take 6 Tuesday until Tuesday, March 2, when he releases his new Six Pack album, ‘Hillbilly Bone.’ The title track, a duet with Trace Adkins, is currently in the Top 10 on the country singles charts.

While Brad Paisley is nearing the top of the country charts with his single ‘American Saturday Night,’ his thoughts turn toward another of his hits, ‘Then,’ just in time for the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day.

Brad says his fans have let him know how much the song means to them, and how much they love the romantic sentiment of it. As one of the song’s writers, Brad teasingly takes all of the credit for it, saying, “I don’t remember what [the other songwriters'] contribution was, but … they agreed when I came up with the lines.”

Actually, Brad has been able to fully realize just how romantic the song is by watching his fans react to it in concert. “I say something almost every night at the end of the song, which is, ‘I hope you’re in love tonight, and if you’re not, I hope you fall in love tonight.’ Because it’s really one of those things that you see so many people experiencing … and it’s the hope of everyone who is in a relationship that it gets better with time and not worse.”

Brad gets another chance to see how the song is affecting concertgoers (and to gauge just how well Valentine’s Day went for them!) when his American Saturday Night tour stops in Fresno, Calif. on Feb. 18.

Luke Byran’s new single and video for ‘Rain is a Good Thing’ took the Georgia farm kid right back to his rain-soaked roots. As the son of a farmer who was dependent on the stuff, Luke tells the Boot he definitely wanted to write a positive song about precipitation.

“Rain is very important, and kind of kicks off the whole process of life,” Luke tells The Boot. “We worked in agriculture, so we were always looking up at the sky, checking if it was raining or if rain was in the forecast. That always kind of set the tone for the mood in my household, whether we had rain coming in or not. Or if it had rained, we knew the crops would be good and it was going to be a good week around the Bryan household.”

Luke says it was fun to take a subject that has a typically negative connotation and turn it into a positive thing. But there’s a large group of people who might just disagree — until they catch a glimpse of themselves on video, that is. The video for ‘Rain Is a Good Thing,’ was directed by Shaun Silva (who in addition to shooting music videos for Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts, among others, has helmed those memorable ‘Caveman’ commercials for GEICO insurance). Luke’s clip was shot in October at his inagural Farm Tour show in Statesboro, Ga., and features 3500 rain-soaked, muddy — and clearly devoted — fans who braved the wet weather to watch Luke perform!

‘Rain’ Is a Good Thing’ is the second single from Luke’s sophomore album, ‘Doin’ My Thing.’ The first single, ‘Do I,’ was Luke’s first No. 1 hit.

Lady Antebellum’s chart-topping album, ‘Need you Now,’ looks at love from both sides of the spectrum … And if the subject matter seems to range from romantic ecstasy to downright heartbreak and pain, that’s exactly what the trio was going for, according to Charles Kelley.

Charles says that while he was in newly-wedded bliss, the group’s Hillary Scott was experiencing the opposite end of the emotional scale, which added a lot to the album. “I just got married … I was definitely feeling in that romantic place. But people don’t want to hear a whole record about that. We don’t either,” Charles tells the Toronto Sun. ”And at the same time, Hillary was going through a lot of stuff. That’s where ‘Ready to Love Again’ and some of the other songs about having to pick yourself back up came from. So we ended up with a balanced record.”

In her own defense, though, Hillary tells The Boot that it’s not as bad as all that. “We don’t want people thinking I’m really going through a rough time with all the heartbreak songs!” she says with a laugh. “I’m not bi-polar!”

“Hillary writes a lot of depressing songs, and she’s the sweetest, most happy person I’ve ever met,” adds Charles. He tells the Sun this year will be a big building year for the band, as they ratchet up their production a notch and take steps towards going out on their own as a headlining act.

Rascal Flatts have not only been one of country music’s most successful acts, but their tight harmonies and well-crafted lyrics have worked their way into the pop world, well ahead of the recent crossover success of artists such as Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum. But the trio aren’t surprised by their influence. They’re just surprised it went unnoticed for so long.

“It’s kind of amazing that people are just now finding out about it,” Flatts guitarist/pianist Jay DeMarcus admits to The Boot. “Not to sound boastful … but I think there was a movement that was started with us and Keith Urban, that paved the way for country to cross over a little more easily, with the pop-flavored country music that we know today.”

And while they have yet to see one of their own singles go all the way to No.1 on the pop chart, the Flatts are still bursting with pride for artists who do achieve that feat. “I’m so proud to see the success that someone like Taylor is having,” Jay says. “I think there’s a void there that country music has been able to fill, and artists like Taylor and Keith and Lady A are filling those voids.”

The trio especially have their eyes on Taylor, partly because they take some of the ownership in her soaring career. “Taylor did the same thing we did three or four years ago,” Gary LeVox continues, “because we had out-sold everybody in every genre of music, and Taylor did the same thing this year. So I think after a few years of it starting to take hold … I think that’s why every artist from everywhere tries to come over and get into country music.”

The boys will have even more exposure this week, when their latest hit, ‘Unstoppable,’ will be featured at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. They are also continuing their American Living Unstoppable tour in 2010, as well as working on another album.

Keith Urban began playing the guitar as a wee lad, first honing his skills on a ukulele, then graduating to a bona fide real guitar, and fell head over heels in love for the first time.

His first electric guitar was an Ibanez copy of a a Fender Telecaster Deluxe. “Wish I still had it,” a wistful Keith tells Nashville’s Tennesean. “I traded that one and bought a candy apple red Fender Strat, because I wanted one that looked like [Dire Straight's] Mark Knopfler’s.”

During the sabbatical between The Ranch and his first solo U.S. record, Keith’s guitar playing was what helped him pay the rent. The guy from Down Under played a lot of recording sessions, including ones for the Dixie Chicks. ”Session playing, I found uncomfortable,” says Keith. “I didn’t know how to get a good guitar tone. Playing live is well and good, but the studio is a different environment. And my playing suits my music more than it suits other people’s.”

Even though, he’s constantly playing guitar on the road and in the studio, he still enjoys noodling with his guitar around the house. “I still play music around the house,” says Keith. “Particularly when I’ve just bought a guitar, and I seem to always be acquiring another guitar.”

Carrie Underwood’s upcoming marriage to Ottowa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher is being given glowing advance reviews by her fellow country singing buddies.

Dierks Bentley, who has toured with Carrie and who also happens to be a big hockey fan, tell PEOPLE magazine why he thinks Carrie and Mike are going to make a great team. “They are really cute together,” Dierks said at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala over the weekend. “They seem pretty devoted to each other, and they come from a good background … so I think that’s the key to a good marriage.”

Miranda Lambert — who makes no bones about her love of down-home country life versus city life — thinks Carrie will make a good wife, mainly because she’s grounded. “Carrie is very down to earth and stable,” says Miranda. “She’s a great girl … she really is. I’m happy for her.”

Movie star and musician Jaime Foxx had quite a surprise for Grammy nominee Miranda Lambert after the awards ceremony Sunday night (Jan. 31). When Miranda walked into Jamie’s post-Grammy party at the Conga Room, he announced, “Miranda Lambert is in the house,” then launched into his own special rap version of the singer’s No. 1 hit, ‘White Liar.’

Miranda was delighted with Jamie’s interpretation of the tune and thrilled to have the opportunity to talk with him. During their chat, the Oscar winner told the country star that he’d love to write with her. Jamie has firmly established himself as a country-music follower, having performed on the CMA Awards with Rascal Flatts and on George Straight’s Artist of the Decade concert TV special last spring.
