Blake Shelton’s Marriage Secrets

Blake Shelton graces the cover of Redbook’s February issue, in which he reveals his secret to being a good husband, what he finds sexiest about his wife, Miranda Lambert, and how she’s “tamed” him.

“You’ve got to be confident and a little bit of a pushover,” Blake explains to the magazine (quote via US Weekly). “Obviously, you’ve got to be a loyal person. I’m never going to listen to someone trash my wife. I think you have to be willing to take a bullet for somebody if you’re going to stand up there, take your vows, and be married to them for the rest of your life.”

Although, it probably doesn’t hurt to also be attracted to your spouse. “A woman who is not insecure gets me,” Blake says in a separate interview with Cosmopolitan. “I understand it’s gotta be tough to be a girl. But a woman who doesn’t give a crap if I notice her? That drives me crazy. That’s something Miranda has.”

Since their May nuptials, Blake admits that he’s settled down a bit. “I think she has probably tamed me a bit,” Blake tells Redbook. “Or maybe it’s because I’m 35, and you start to calm down anyway. But I think a lot of it has to do with feeling settled and lucky to have ended up with the person I really wanted to be with. To me, that’s being tamed in the best possible way.”

That being said, the Oklahoma native recognizes that you can’t change your significant other in a healthy relationship. “We accept and understand each other,” he says. “Miranda would never want to tame me into being somebody I’m not, and I would never try to do that to her.”

Next up for the couple, they’re headed to the Super Bowl, where they’ll perform ‘America the Beautiful’ together. The game takes place Feb. 5 in Indianapolis. Immediately following the Super Bowl, the second season of ‘The Voice,’ featuring Blake as one of the superstar coaches, will premiere on NBC.

Taylor Swift’s Celebrity Flames

Adam Young

Swift penned an unrequited love song (“Enchanted”) about the Owl City singer in late 2010. After the two exchanged e-mails, Young wrote Swift his own love song on Valentine’s Day. “Everything about you is beautiful,” he wrote. “You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale.”

Joe Jonas

The Disney heartthrob ended their relationship in a 27-second phone call in Oct. 2008. “That’s got to be a record,” Swift told Ellen Degeneres. “When I find the person who’s right for me, he’ll be wonderful. I’m not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone.”

Taylor Lautner

The Valentine’s Day paramours dated for three months in 2009. “It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a source told Us after their December split. “There was no chemistry.”

Cory Monteith

Swift was spotted hanging with the Glee star — who once told Us that Swift was his celebrity crush — at Pinz Bowling Alley in March 2010. The two also spent time together at a January Grammy party and shared a late-night dinner in February. “They seemed really happy,” a source said.

Jake Gyllenhaal

After a whirlwind two-month romance, multiple sources told Us Swift was completely blind-sided when Gyllenhaal dumped her just before New Year’s in 2010. “Jake just told her it wasn’t working out,” one insider said. “Taylor is really upset and hurt. She feels really burned by him.”

Chord Overstreet

Swift — who’s pals with the Glee star’ s brother, Nash — “reached out to Chord,” an insider told Us. The two hit an L.A. Kings NHL home game in Feb. 2011, where a source added, “after the event, Taylor and Chord grabbed a bite. He’s into her.”

John Mayer

The the two enjoyed a two-hour dinner at Nashville Bistro Cabana in Jan. 2010, a full-fledged romance never developed. Did Swift mind the romance speculation? “I try not to be a complainer, you know?”

LeAnn Rimes – Skin & Bones

Here comes the bride . . . all skin and bones?

LeAnn Rimes stepped out in Calabasas, Calif. with fiance Eddie Cibrian on Friday — wearing a draped tank top, short-shorts and platform shoes that all accentuated her shockingly gaunt frame.

As contrast, Rimes sported healthier-looking curves in a similar short-shorts outfit while in Nashville with her man back in June 2010.

With her wedding to actor Cibrian coming later this year, the “How Do I Live” singer, 28, turned heads at a West Hollywood bash late last month with her scary-skinny new physique.

“She looked unbelievably skinny,” one onlooker said of Rimes.

Still, Rimes says she keeps a healthy diet. Tweeting on Tuesday, she reported her breakfast to fans: “Poached eggs, whole wheat toast and Italian ham w/ fresh berries!”

Fitness enthusiast Rimes has said that exercising has helped her cope with her dramatic personal life. (Her extramarital 2009 affair with Cibrian, 37, ended both of their marriages to other people.)

“Just getting to the gym — even for a few minutes — was a big accomplishment,” Rimes told Shape mag last year. Working out “really did make me feel better and kind of saved me…It gave me a bit of sanity.”

She added of her hardcore routines: “I’m serious about my exercise. I don’t just doodle around. I see people at the gym talking on their cell phones. If they think their bodies are really going to change … I mean, you’ve got to put in the effort!”

Dixie Chicks Natalie Maines Debuts New Song

Dixie Chicks fans have waited nearly five years – since 2006’s Grammy-winning album Taking the Long Way – to hear new recorded material from Natalie Maines.

Actually, the song isn’t so new: It’s a cover of the Beach Boys’s classic “God Only Knows” – recorded by Maines, 36, for the series finale of HBO’sBig Love, set to air March 20.

While Maines has no plans to record a solo album, or another project like her Dixie Chicks bandmates Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, who formed theCourt Yard Hounds, the track spotlights her expressive voice over an airy arrangement featuring a drizzle of keyboard and bleating organs.

She recorded it with producer Rick Rubin in Malibu, Calif., in the end of January, and it features drumming by Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The song will also be available for sale on iTunes on March 15.

Taylor Swift, New Boy, Again …

Taylor Swift isn’t afraid to make the first move.

Before the Nashville resident, 21, hit an L.A. Kings NHL home game with Chord Overstreet, 22, she was introduced to the Glee star through his musician brother, Nash.

“Taylor reached out to Chord,” the insider tells the new issue of Us Weekly of Swift, who recently scored her seventh No. 1 hit with “Back to December.”

“After the event, Taylor and Chord grabbed a bite. He’s into her,” the insider says.

Adds another Swift source: “She’s getting to know him. He’s hot, young and single — and he’s closer to her age than Jake Gyllenhaal [30].”

Shania Twain to Release Autobiography in May

Newlywed Shania Twain will release her autobiography, ‘From This Moment On,’ May 3. The book chronicles the singer’s ascension from her birth in Canada as Eilleen Edwards to the superstar who’s sold more than 75 million albums worldwide.

In the book, Shania shares her “challenging and sometimes shockingly painful upbringing in rural Ontario,” the tragic death of her mother and stepfather, her rise to fame and the recent struggles in her personal life.

“There have been moments in my life I was concerned by the reality that tomorrow would never come,” she explains. “Recently I experienced one of those moments to an intensity that brought on a sudden urgency to document my life before I ran out of time, before I had the opportunity to share an honest and complete account of my life, in my own words.”

The book is likely to recount some of the happier times in the country phenomenon’s life, as well. She married Frédéric Thiébaud in Puerto Rico on New Year’s Day 2011, after becoming romantically involved in 2009.

Shania posted a letter to her fans on her website in December to share news of the engagement, writing, “The support of others has helped me to move forward less fearful of change, allowing me to embrace the beauty of life today and remain more open to whatever it brings tomorrow … In the last two-and-a-half years of adjusting to life after separation and divorce, I needed to lean on others more often than I was accustomed to … I’m in love! Frédéric Nicolas Thiébaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship.”

The book is being published by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster.

Also in the pipeline for Shania is her reality show ‘Why Not?’ which is scheduled to premiere on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network in April.

Billy Ray: Trying to Mend Family

Billy Ray Cyrus is trying to do right by his loved ones.

After telling PEOPLE in its new issue that fame “destroyed my family” – and revealing in another interview he was “scared” for daughter Miley, 18, – the country star says he’s looking inward.

“It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now,” Cyrus, 49, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
Calling his recent comments “explosive, and unintentionally so,” Cyrus says, “My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier.”

Cyrus, who had retreated to his Tennessee farm and filed for divorce last fall, has been lately spending time in Los Angeles with wife Tish, 43, and youngest daughter Noah, 11.

“It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues,” he says.

For more on Cyrus’s regrets, his hopes to repair his family, and Miley’s reaction to his comments, pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday

Kellie Pickler Explains Why She Eloped

The cake was all set. The flowers were picked out. But it was the guest list that freaked out Kellie Pickler.

“We were almost finished with the wedding planning,” the newlywed country singer, 24, says in an interview airing Wednesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “And every time we got to the guest list, it was like, ‘Oh my God, I hate half these people.’ Nothing personal.”

So, she and songwriter Kyle Jacobs ditched it all and eloped to Antigua in the Caribbean, where they tied the knot in the ocean surf at sunset on New Year’s Day.

Unlike the wedding, the eloping didn’t require much planning – just a fearless spirit. “All we did was I packed the wedding dress and packed him an outfit,” Pickler says. “We totally just put faith in God that it was all going to work out, and it did, and it was the most incredible day of my life.”

Pickler also reveals that she had her husband’s ring engraved with a special message – one that he’ll surely find amusing in the coming years.

“I put our wedding anniversary, 1-1-11, and I put, ‘Put it back on!’ ” she says. “So, if he takes if off and he looks at it, it’s going to say, ‘Put it back on!’ “

Taylor Swift Experiences Mind-Blowing Success in Asia

If there were any questions about the international appeal of Taylor Swift, they were answered as she wrapped up the Asian leg of her Speak Now world tour earlier this week.

Prior to taking the stage in Hong Kong on Monday (pictured left), the 21-year-old superstar was presented with numerous platinum sales plaques from Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and the Phillipines for her latest album, ‘Speak Now.’ Her previous album, ‘Fearless,’ has sold 400,000 copies in the area.

“Some of them were really suprising to me. I wasn’t aware of every single certification we have in Asia,” Taylor told the Associated Pressbackstage. “It really blew my mind.”

Lady Antebellum Towers Over Eminem to Win Album of the Year!

(Reuters) – Country trio Lady Antebellum and Canadian rock band Arcade Fire lit up the Grammy Awards on Sunday, winning key prizes in a ceremony packed with upset victories and a humiliating setback for Eminem.

The hip-hop star, who led the field with 10 nominations and had been expected to dominate the ceremony, ended up with just two awards in the rap field.

Lady Antebellum, on the other hand, picked up five prizes, including song and record of the year. It marked the second consecutive year that a country act dominated the event, after Taylor Swift grabbed the Grammy glory in 2010.

Arcade Fire denied Lady Antebellum a clean sweep by winning the event’s top prize, album of the year. In a year dominated by pop, R&B and hip-hop acts, few pundits had given the defiantly independent Montreal band any chance of taking the top prize. Moreover, the band lost two earlier races.

They were so shocked to hear their name called by presenter Barbra Streisand that they delivered an unscheduled performance to close the show.

The band was honored for its album “The Suburbs,” which topped the U.S. and Canadian charts last year without the support of a major label. It was the first time a rock band had won the award since U2 in 2005.
